    All outdoor patio furniture and accessories sold by Design Furnishings include free shipping, primarily using specialty furniture carriers, via our Bronze Delivery Service, within the continental United States (48 contiguous States). Some exceptions apply for remote areas and add-on services, which you can read more about below.

    Once you place an order with Design Furnishings, you can rest assured that we work diligently to get your outdoor patio furniture to you as quickly and safely as possible.

    It all starts with us working with the best and most reliable specialty furniture carriers in the business. We ensure that our carriers have the proper certifications and insurance and have trained personnel to handle your furniture. The result – your furniture arrives promptly and without damage.

    There’s no need to worry if your entire delivery does not arrive at one time. It’s possible that your order includes multiple brands shipping from different locations. In these situations, delivery to your home may entail using two different carriers, who will each contact you to schedule a convenient time and date for your delivery.

    In some cases, smaller orders may be shipped using UPS, FedEx or an alternative service. Read more about our shipping/delivery methods.

    FREE “Bronze Delivery Service” for Domestic Shipments

    Our Bronze Delivery Service ensures that your furniture and accessories are shipped free, within the continental United States (48 contiguous States) except for certain delivery areas that are considered remote or isolated by furniture carriers. In these cases, additional delivery fees may be charged (see Remote Zip Codes here).

    If your shipment is going to Canada, we can arrange shipping for an additional fee. 

    Specifications of Bronze Delivery Service

    Delivery Location:

    Our free Bronze Delivery Service includes delivery to inside the threshold of your residence or within your garage. The product will not be carried up stairs. If you live in an apartment above the first floor, we recommend upgrading to White Glove Service. We’re sorry, but delivery does not include removal of old appliances or furniture.

    Assembly Service:

    None

    Packaging:

    The product will be left in the original packaging.

    Choose “White Glove Service” for In-Home Delivery

    Unless otherwise specified, most orders are shipped as a threshold delivery to your garage or front door. While local carriers are not prepared to bring outdoor furniture into your home as part of the free shipping, our White Glove Service may be scheduled in advance to ensure that your outdoor furniture is delivered exactly where you would like it.

    Specifications of White Glove Service

    Delivery Location:

    Our White Glove carriers will deliver your order to a room of your choosing, including a maximum of two flights of stairs (up to 15 steps = 1 flight). If additional flights are required, please contact us.

    Assembly Service:

    The carrier will unpack your order and provide light setup requiring basic tools (i.e. pieces will be screwed or bolted together, set pieces next to each other, or on top of each other). No hook up of any electrical or component wires. We’re sorry but we cannot remove old appliances or furniture.

    Packaging:

    The shipper will remove and dispose of all packaging.

    Note:

    Items being carried up more than 30 steps and/or longer assembly periods are available at additional charges. Please contact us if you feel you need these services.

    When Will My Order Arrive?

    Each of our outdoor patio furniture products has a pre-ship processing time, which is the number of business days it will take for your order to be processed, inspected and prepared for shipment from the warehouse or distribution center. Because our products are from manufacturers from all over North America, the pre-ship processing time will vary according to the individual manufacturer’s policies and general practices.

    Actual delivery of your order will then take additional time to arrive depending on how your package is being shipped. You will be notified as quickly as possible if a product is out of stock or on backorder.

    If you live in a rural area, (see remote zips) the carrier may not have a daily route to your location and delivery may take up to an additional 15 business days.

    For small parcel shipments: Depending on where you live in relation to the shipping warehouse, you should receive your item between 2-7 business days from the time the product leaves the warehouse or distribution center

    For furniture carrier or truck freight: After your order has been shipped, the item should be delivered in approximately 1-3 weeks. If the item is being delivered to a residential address, an appointment for a delivery time will be made upon the arrival of your order at the local terminal. For deliveries to a commercial address, no appointment will be made. However, if you anticipate that there will be no one to accept the delivery on delivery day; you can call us to arrange an appointment.

    For White Glove Service: Due to the special nature of this customized delivery option, delivery may take up to 4 weeks from the time your order leaves the warehouse or distribution center.

    We take this extra time to ensure your order is handled as carefully as possible throughout transit, which includes our requirement from each White Glove Service agent to carefully inspect each of your pieces before delivery to your door.

    Additionally, in order to ensure proper in-home delivery, your order may be transferred to another truck or shipping company, en route. These transfers are sometimes necessary with furniture freight shipments so that the proper trucks, handling, and delivery service are used to ensure the safe arrival of your order.

    Our White Glove Service carrier will contact you to arrange a delivery time that best fits your schedule. Please be prepared to allow up to a 4-hour block of time, Monday through Friday, during regular business hours for your delivery. Saturday deliveries may be made by special arrangement, but may not always be possible.

    A Word about our Delivery/Shipping Methods

    Design Furnishings primarily uses specialty furniture delivery carriers to ship its products. In some cases however, such as with small orders, other delivery/shipping methods are used.

    Small Parcel Ground Shipping:

    Smaller products will be shipped via regular ground shipping (generally FedEx, UPS or DHL). The average transit time is between 2-7 business days (not including pre-ship time) for any destination in the contiguous United States. Delivery times will depend on the local delivery schedule of the carrier, and it may not be possible to make an appointment.

    Generally, ground delivery is available Monday through Saturday, 9am to 8pm. A signature is not typically required. If the customer is not at home to accept delivery, the product will be left if it is safe to do so. If a signature is required the product will not be left at the address.

    Please note that deliveries cannot be made to a PO Box and that if you purchase multiple ground shipping items, they may be shipped via Ground Freight instead at the discretion of the manufacturer.

    Delivery to a Business Address

    For ground shipments (FedEx, UPS or DHL), delivery to a business address will be carried out during normal business hours, Monday through Friday only. A signature will be requested on delivery. The carrier is not required to match the signature to the name on the package.

    Furniture Carrier Delivery:

    Many of our items are too large and heavy to ship with a ground carrier or common carrier. Because of this, we ship many items via specialized furniture carriers to ensure your order is handled with the utmost care.

    These deliveries require a recipient to be present during delivery and are made during normal business hours, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The delivery agent will call in advance to schedule a delivery appointment, generally within a 4-hour window. You are responsible for signing the Waybill and receiving the product.

    Furniture carrier delivery will arrive via a large truck from contracted freight carriers. The street of access must be at least 10 feet wide with an overhead clearance of at least 14 feet. If the street is smaller than this, additional handling charges may apply. The delivery truck will park in front of your home but the driver is not authorized to bring your shipment into your home. Furniture carrier deliveries are ground-level deliveries made outside the main home entrance (e.g. inside a garage or to a front porch/threshold).

    A large item may need more than one person to unload. Transporting the item into the home or other area is the customer's responsibility. Delivery agents are not equipped to dispose of packaging materials.

    Once your item is shipped we will email tracking information to you in order to track your order online. Your order will be shipped to a local delivery company in your area and the local agent will call you to schedule a time to deliver to your home. 

    Bronze Delivery Service is our free shipping option, which is delivery, in the carton, to the first dry area of your home (garage or front door/threshold of your home or building).  Optional upgrade to White Glove Service is available.

    Redelivery

    Redelivery fees ranging from $25 - $125 will be charged if you miss your delivery appointment. The decision to reattempt delivery is made solely at the freight carrier’s discretion. Your item may be returned to Design Furnishings fulfillment warehouse if the freight carrier is unable to contact you for delivery or if you miss your delivery appointment. In these situations, the cost of shipping to you and return shipping will be deducted from any refund. See our Return Policy.

    Storage Charge

    Once the freight carrier has contacted you to arrange a delivery time, you must respond to their call within 1 business day. If the freight carrier has not heard from you and needs to store your item, you will be charged storage fees up to $50 per day. These daily storage fees may also apply if you cannot accept the delivery within 3 business days of the carrier contacting you.

    Refused Delivery

    If you refuse or return a non-defective or undamaged items, you will be responsible for all actual return shipping costs. Return shipping fees range anywhere from $100 to $695, depending on the size and weight of the item(s). Your order will also incur a restocking fee that is 25% of the item’s price as well as the original shipping charge.

    Return shipping fees should be paid directly to the freight carrier in advance. If not paid in advance, your return shipping fees will be deducted from your refund after the item is received at our warehouse.

    Accepting Deliveries

    IMPORTANT: COUNT AND CONFIRM THAT THE TOTAL BOXES YOU RECEIVE MATCHES THE NUMBER ON YOUR WAYBILL BEFORE SIGNING.

    If 1 or more boxes are missing you MUST make a note on the Waybill indicating how many boxes are missing. If you accept and sign that you received ALL of the boxes without writing on the Waybill that 1 or more boxes are missing, we are unable to replace any missing items as the delivery company will not accept a claim for the missing box(s).

    Time-Definite Fee

    Our freight carriers will do their best to arrange a convenient delivery time with you. If you need to request a specific delivery time outside their normal business hours, a “Time Definite” fee ranging from $75 to $125 may apply. Available delivery times are made solely at the freight carrier’s discretion, and certain days and times may not be available in all areas.

    Stair Carry/Extra Labor Fee

    If you would like your item carried inside your residence, have it unpackaged, assembled, or carried up any flights of stairs, please see our White Glove Delivery Service option. Extra fees will apply.

    Residences or businesses that have steep uphill or downhill slopes leading to the entryway may also be charged additional fees. These fees will vary depending on your individual circumstances and may exceed $100. These services are not available in all areas. Please contact us for availability.

    • Lead Time

       Our posted average delivery times are only for orders that ship within the contiguous United States. Most orders shipping to Canada will increase transit time due to customs inspection and further distance from the supplier distribution centers.

      Taxes & Duties

      Returns

      Unless otherwise noted, we do accept returns on all orders that ship to Canada. All orders fall under our Standard Return Policy.
